This weekend, I had the immense joy of attending our Gordon Family Reunion in Houston, Texas—and words truly fall short of capturing what it meant to be surrounded by over 300 family members, representing 9 family lines and 6 powerful generations.
Looking around the room, I saw myself in every face. There was laughter, storytelling, hugging, and deep moments of reflection. It was a vivid reminder of the power of family legacy—a legacy built through love, resilience, and an unwavering sense of belonging. I felt humbled, grateful, and filled with pride to be part of such a rich lineage.
This reunion didn’t just happen. For more than three decades, a dedicated group of family historians—our pioneers and memory keepers—have made it their mission to gather records, photographs, government documents, oral histories, and more. They are the guardians of our legacy, preserving not just names and dates, but the spirit and soul of who we are.
And now, it’s our turn. Our legacy will continue to evolve through us—through the stories we tell, the connections we maintain, and the values we pass on. So that one day, the seventh and eighth generations will gather, stronger than ever, knowing exactly where they come from.
Family is the backbone of our society, our world, and our future. This weekend reminded me just how powerful it is to be grounded in something bigger than myself.
I am so proud to be part of the Gordon Family. Here's to legacy, love, and the strength of our roots.
