BGWR CHICAGO CHAPTER KICKS OFF AT HONEY & HUE BOOKSTORE
1 min read
There are some rooms you step into and immediately feel at home. The Honey & Hue Bookstore in Chicago created exactly that atmosphere during the kickoff of the Chicago chapter of BGWR (Black Girls Who Read).
From the moment I arrived, the room was alive with curiosity, joy, and the unmistakable warmth of readers who love sharing ideas. There is nothing like hearing women discuss the books that have shaped them, challenged them, or carried them through seasons of life.

This event marked the launch of the Chicago BGWR chapter, and it was an honor to witness the beginning of something truly special. BGWR has always been about affirmation and the importance of stories told through many perspectives.
As an author, there is no greater gift than being in a space where readers are excited about stories and the world they create for themselves and others. I felt honored to be surrounded by people who believe in the power of books and the communities they shape.
Thank you, BGWR Chicago, for the invitation and the excitement. bThis is only the beginning for this chapter — and I am grateful to have witnessed its first page.
